chief information officer

what drew you to the higher education world?

neither of my parents were able to attend college, and they stressed the importance of an education in my youth. being able to contribute and assist students, especially first-generation students, in their academic journey is what drew me to education. a college education is a gateway to improving one's life, and being part of a team that supports the student's academic journey is the best job.

what do you enjoy most about your role at sfa?

i enjoy being able to make a positive difference in the experiences of our students at sfa. i am committed to improving our student's experience, and that is what drives me. at the end of the day, the greatest satisfaction of my role at sfa is being able to positively contribute to our student's success and positive experiences.

what do you hope students gain from sfa?

i hope our students undergo a transformative experience while at sfa and acquire the life skills and education to make a positive impact in the world and in their families. an education will have a lifelong impact on not only the student's life but on all those who supported the student in their academic journey.

what are you passionate about outside of your role at sfa?

i am passionate about my family and being able to spend time with them. i see my children and my grandchildren as my greatest legacy, and i strive to live the values that are the foundation of my life as an example to them.
